Some time ago a teacher taught; it doesn’t matter which eight hours you practice, so long as you practice. Now as I take the time and return to the mat, I look back at some of the beauty.

The sun sets in a warm glow over the Nebraska State Captiol as photographed by Dan Luedert.

This image from Lincoln was selected for a showcase of Nebraska by the Hildegard Center for the Arts celebrating Nebraska’s Sesquicentennial Photo Exhibit: Bridges. When I returned to Nebraska after retreating from photojournalism I had the great opportunity to tour Nebraska for the Nebraska Department of Roads (now the Nebraska Department of Transportation). This space to practice let me see Nebraska as I had wished for and practiced for.

Even though there was some rough weather and cold nights, I was able to find a bit of warmth and share some beauty.
